Origin – Malaysia
The Cameron Highlands tea, as its name suggests, is grown in the Cameron Highlands. These Highlands are located on the west island of Malaysia. There, surrounded by evergreen, diverse jungle and unique architecture, is the BOH tea plantation. It lies at over 1,500 metres. This special climate, as well as the sour soil, produce very special teas.
What does Broken Orange Pekoe actually mean? Orange Pekoe is a leaf grade, i.e. a designation for a size category of tea leaves. Orange has nothing to do with colour or taste. It is derived from the Dutch “oranje”, which means royal. The old seafaring nation, the Netherlands, imported a large part of its tea from China to Europe. Broken means that this tea is not whole leaves, but parts.
