Green Tea from South Korea
The tea leaves are picked by hand between the 8th and 15th of May. They have a dark green color. The tea plants grow in the middle of a bamboo forest (“Jukro”=bamboo), which helps to maintain optimal daylight and humidity for the leaves. As Daejak tea is processed with leaves receiving abundant sunshine is has a wonderful deep taste and strong fragrance. Wild tea has been growing in the Jirisan mountains of South Korea for more than 1200 years. As the tea leaves grow at an altitude of 400-500 meters between rocks and steep valleys, they can only be picked by hand. Wild tea is 100% natural, no fertilizers nor pesticides are used during the production process.
After picking the leaves by hand, they are roasted on fire two times. This traditional Korean handmade organic process brings an abundant and pure aroma that delivers a true and deep flavor.
The Jukro Tea Company has been naturally cultivating traditional Korean organic tea since 1962. The farm is surrounded by the beautiful Jiri mountain and the pure water of the Sumjim river. This exceptional environment is what makes Jukro tea unique.
