Oolong tea at salacca
Another tea variety that has become increasingly popular in recent years is Oolong tea. Oolong tea has its origin in China. In the meantime, however, it has also been successfully cultivated in other Asian countries such as Taiwan. Oolong means “black dragon” or “black snake”, which is probably also due to the fact that Oolong tea takes on a very dark color in the cup. It also differs from green and black tea in the length of fermentation. Its duration lies between that of green tea and black tea and is therefore also called semi-fermented tea. It tastes more like green tea.
Oolong tea can be brewed several times just like green or black tea. Each infusion has a different meaning: the first infusion produces the “tea of good smell”, the second the “tea of good taste” and the third is finally called “tea of long friendship”. Oolong tea also contains caffeine.
